Photoshop has been able to work with three dimensional objects for several versions now. In fact, you can even create your own simple 3D objects by extruding them right inside of Photoshop. We will utilize this approach in this course where we work from start to finish to realize our concept. We’ll get started with this project by setting and extruding our type right inside of Photoshop.

If you’ve never used the 3D tools in Photoshop, you’ll get a crash course here. After positioning our type, we’ll weigh the pro’s and con’s of using a traditional texturing workflow vs manipulating our bus textures on top of the type. After deciding on the photo-manipulation route, we’ll focus on fitting two different two-dimensional images to our 3D text. We will learn not only learn how to transform our images into place but we will also learn how to color correct them and nest them neatly into our base image using a variety of tools and techniques. By the end of this course, you can expect to have learned a workflow that will help you to realize a concept that integrates 3D type into a 2D image, all right here in Photoshop.
