In this Photoshop tutorial we'll cover the process of creating female character concepts from scratch. We'll gather reference images, sketch out gesture poses for the characters, refine the anatomy of those poses, and use that as an under-drawing to create three character concepts.
We'll color them in and render those colors to develop a ‘quick read’ for the character concepts. Along the way we'll discuss the importance of getting a ‘quick read’ in your designs, as well as the importance of building a strong visual library. We'll also discuss what key areas to focus on during drawing versus what to focus on during coloring.
By the end of this Photoshop training, you’ll understand why keeping organized and on track in your work as well as building on strong fundamentals is key to creating compelling female character concepts.
